I’m struggling to find time to write my monthly updates, but it’s better late than never. I am hoping to catch up before the year ends.
Dividend Income
In August, 2 companies paid dividend to me:

Not a big number of companies, but second month of a quarter is not the strongest month in my portfolio.
Dividend Year-on-Year Comparison
Let’s compare dividend to what we received in August last year:

An interesting thing happened. Even though both companies raised their dividends compared to last year and the amount in $ is bigger, once I convert the amount to euros I can see that I received less compared to last year. This is due to euro getting stronger compared to the dollar. The difference is small but it’s not frequent that I would get a smaller amount year-on-year. I need to buy some additional company that pays in August to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
Other Passive Income Sources
We also received some income from a few alternative investments:
- €6.73 – P2P lending
- €0.57 – Real Estate Crowdfunding
- €6.18 – Bond interest
- €2.14 – Money Market Funds
- €0.91 – Rental Income Crowdfunding
- €48.96 – Options Income
I have to highlight the last line. I generated my first income from trading options. As I mentioned in my previous post, I sold a PUT option for Pfizer because I was planning to buy some shares of it anyway. This ended up lifting my passive income quite significantly this month.
Passive Income Summary
After adding it up, our portfolio generated €75.38 in passive income during the month:

Here’s a comparison to previous years:

Due to options income, passive income this August overshadows previous months by some margin.
Portfolio Contributions and New Investment Move
I contributed €500 to our portfolio this month. All of it went to my Interactive Brokers investments account.
August was a special month because I got to experience what happens when my sold PUT option ends up in the money. It means that I had an obligation to buy 100 shares of Pfizer (PFE) at $25.00/share for a total of $2500. I was not sure what would happen exactly in my investment account but it was nice to see that everything happened automatically and the order was completed automatically at the option expiry date.
This purchase adds $146.2 to my net annual dividend income if nothing changes with their payouts.
Summary
August was a great month in terms of passive income. I beat a new record of passive income in a month and that $100 month is coming some day.
So far in 2025, my passive income totals €366.99, which is 73% of my €500 annual goal. I am ahead of the goal at the moment and I’m pretty confident that I will reach €500 before year-end.
Thanks for reading! 🙂

Great to read that you are ahead of target! That’s always a good feeling. Seeing a record on a monthly basis is also sweet. Well done, keep going strong!
Thanks for the encouragement, Mr CF!
